UPDATE: Traffic Alert: 101 at Last Chance Grade Closed Again, 96 Hit by Slide West of Happy Camp

UPDATE:
U.S. Highway 101 reopened at Last Chance Grade with one-hour delays but the situation could change if more slide activity occurs, Caltrans reports.
PREVIOUS:
U.S. Highway 101 at Last Chance Grade is closed again after another slide hit the stretch located in Del Norte County south of Crescent City and a slide on State Route 96 west of Happy Camp has closed that roadway.
Caltrans estimates the 101 will reopen later today but notes “this estimate is subject to change if additional slide activity occurs.”
"We continue 24/7 monitoring of the area to ensure safety and prompt reopening,” a Facebook post states.
This is another in a series of recent slide activity in recent weeks.
