Eureka Police Department 'Key Takeaways' of Weekend Protests (VIDEO)

The Eureka Police Department has responded to media inquiries regarding Saturday and Sunday's protest.

In an email, EPD notes the "key takeaways" of the past two days of protest.

An incident involving a red Jeep and a pedestrian has been assigned to an officer for further investigation.

No arrests were made on Saturday, but Sunday night was a different story.

Brent Clark of Redway was taken into EPD custody for alleged vandalism. Olivia Winfield Perez was also arrested for allegedly interfering with Clark's arrest.

According to the release, "During this intense moment, pepper balls were deployed- sending small paintballs containing powdered OC to diffuse the situation. At no time were rubber bullets used."
