UPDATE:
A Eureka woman is being held on $1 million bail in connection with the death of another woman who was found dead in a parking lot, according to a release from the Eureka Police Department.

Daniella Moore, 40, was arrested on suspicion of homicide, the release states. Few other details were immediately available. Read the EPD release at the bottom of the story.

PREVIOUSLY:
Eureka Police are investigating a possible crime scene today on Hilfiker Lane after a woman was found dead “under suspicious circumstances,” Police Chief Steve Watson confirmed this morning in a message to the Redheaded Blackbelt.

"Just before 1:00 AM this morning, officers were dispatched to the foot of Hilfiker Lane regarding a reported possibly deceased person. Officers located a deceased adult female there under suspicious circumstances," Watson stated. "This is still an active investigation (detectives and evidence technicians are still at work). We will release more information soon, (hopefully later today)."

From EPD:

On July 4, 2019 at approximately 12:50 a.m. Officers from the Eureka Police Department were dispatched to the Foot of Hilfiker parking lot for an unknown problem. Upon officer arrival they located a deceased female subject lying in the parking lot. Due to the totality of the circumstances the scene was secured and EPD Detectives and an Evidence Technician were call out to process the scene. The scene was processed and all evidence collected.

Through the investigation EPD Detectives identified the suspect as Daniella Moore (40 years old of Eureka). Moore was arrested and booked in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for Homicide. Moore is being held on one-million-dollar bond.
