The Alibi in Eureka is Closed

And we were just getting to know each other.
Justin Ladd, owner of both the Arcata and Eureka locations of the bar/restaurant/music venue, posted this morning on The Alibi's Facebook page that the Eureka venue, at 535 Fifth St., has been summarily shuttered due to family medical issues.
The watering hole has had a troubled run since opening last November. A number of employees quit in recent months, and opening hours -- rather than expanding as planned -- had been cut dramatically.
Still, the sudden closure was a surpise, leading many a Facebook commenter to employ the word "bummer."
