To the darling person who answered, “Save a horse, ride a cowboy! What what?” -- does your cowboy know you think he’s a meanie? You might want to share your little, uh, bias with him before he gets too serious about riding with you “into the sunset” (another reader answer). And as for you scaredycats -- “Horses are dangerous” “Horses scare me” -- oh, for heaven’s sake, just get your chappy hides down to Clam Beach (readers’ choice!), hang around the parking lot until a happy beach rider comes clopping in with the tide, and talk to her.

And the horse. See? Not so scary.

Best Edward Abbey answer: “Anywhere out of the city.” (Oh, brave cowboy ... )

 Drunkest whinnie: “Sidelines.”
