Re: “Indigenous Foodways, Wind Farm Opposition and Big Boats

WE need wind. What they need to do is built them just over the horizon so we onshore do not have to look at them nor hear them while they work. PLUS 20mi offshore many many less birds will tangle with them.

Re: “Acorn Gathering for Yurok Sovereignty

Y'know,
To make acorns palatable takes a lot of steps & a lot of work. Things like this make me curious. What do you suppose the originator of this acorn process was up to which led to making acorns palatable? There must have been several different discoveries before finally one person put them all together to create The final product. OR maybe it wasnt one person at all. Perhaps a group of women were working around a campfire exchanging what they knew from their own experiences & what grandma told them. It spotlights the creativity of us. In the end, its all science.

Re: “PG&E Moves Forward with Eel River Dam Removal

FANTASTIC!!!! What we as a species have done to this planet is despicable. A concerted effort should be made to repair the damage we have done. The Eel river canyon is a very very special place returning its health is a wonderful move. Now if we could find someone to cleanup all the railroad trash, wreckage & debris left along the old RR route should be a priority. A superfund project maybe? REMEMBER, whatever we do to this planet we are doing to ourselves.

Re: “Restoration in the Redwoods

GOOD WORK!!!
I would like to see the old prairie Creek Hatchery restored enough to allow self guided tours to learn about the work that was done there.

Re: “Bears in the Bins

Years Ago,
We went camping and was confronted by those bear proof trashcans which are common in every campground you see these days. I had never seen one, nor had I had any instructions on how they open. I tried & tried & tried & tried but I could not get the GD thing to open. SO. What i did was, I hiked WAY back into the forest, found a bear, brought him back to the campground & HE showed me how they open.

Re: “NCJ Preview: Klamath Dam Turning Point and New Food Trucks

RE : FOOD TRUCKS...
I'm surprised that during this pandemic we have not seen an explosion of food trucks.
It seems to me the perfect solution to indoor dining restrictions. I'm surprised every restaurant in the US did not talk to their local authority about getting a food truck & parking it in their lot.
PLUS,
In big metro areas all around the US communities have food truck gatherings.
A weekly day will be picked and many food trucks serving up many kinds of different cuisines will gather and it makes for a great eat out night.

Just a thought...
