Journal Kills at CNPA

Booyakasha!

Six first-place, two second-place awards -- the latter only in categories where we were competing against ourselves. We beat the San Francisco Business Times in business reporting. Our production team got first place for layout and design, and that was in a category without circulation classes. In other words, this year we are officially the BEST-DESIGNED WEEKLY TABLOID NEWSPAPER IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.

Best writing. Best local news reporting. Best features. Best investigative stories. The North Coast Journal has it all, baby! It's like we've been trying to tell you! Click through to the CNPA .pdf for the full rundown.

Oh, and congrats to the Times-Standard for taking home two second-place awards (*cough*).

UPDATE: Whoops, I overlooked The Eureka Reporter because CNPA had filed them under "T." But, yes: Four first-placers for the ER crew -- Public Service, Sports, Design and Special Issue. The T-S's were in breaking news and local news coverage.
