As regards our earlier correction regarding Kinetic (non)debauchery at Crab Park: We see now how that mistake was made.
In short, it must have been a completely different pyrotechnic party that we attended at Crab Park last year during the Kinetic Sculpture camp-out. While the riders were down the beach, tucked snugly in their sleeping bags, this gang of imposters burned up everything in sight:

Your such an ass Dandy. I think I am going to make this the first year we do a human sacrifice. Your up for dinner, watch your back. Coming for you.
Ooh, that part of the beach looks warmer than the part I was on!
Jeez, back when I was a pit crew spouse, what happened at Crab Park stayed at Crab Park. So much for the mystery…
IMPOSTERS!!!
Wearing Burning Man wristbands.
No mo’! We will find you.
Everyone knows what happens at Crab Park. Everyone also knows it’s a lame elitist party only for the “cool” people.
I’ve been every year for the last 7 and let me tell you people, you ain’t missin’ nuthin’.
They try to make it sound like some kind of out-of-control free-for-all. But with Law Enforcement sitting on the fringes and underage drinking and drug use happening, I’ve always been loathe to get into anything illegal.
I say fuck the kinetic clique. Let’s EVERYONE go to Crab Park and pull off the biggest party crash in Humboldt’s history. We’ll have a massive rager with more fire and booze than Crab Park has ever seen. Rednecks with pickups, cholos in low-riders, tweekers, looky-loos and hordes of morons with camera phones taking zillions of photos.
After all, it’s a public park and the kinetic folks have to literally break the law to keep the “uncool” out. Yes, that’s right, it’s ILLEGAL to bar ANYONE from Crab Park EVER.
Behind the scenes of this “event” is some real honest-to-goodness Humboldt-style Ugliness. No Glory here, just a sad bunch of losers riding on the coattails of a dead man’s idea.
So it’s lame and elitist and cliquish and comprised of a bunch of losers… and you’ve been there every year for the past seven. And everyone should go.
Remember the parties out on the South spit? Back when the K. racers used to cross the bay from Fields Landing to the South Jetty……. WILD!
