Editor:

In the third year of a pandemic that has killed more than 900,000 Americans, Adrienne Floreen (“As a Victim…,” Feb. 3) provides some much-needed comic relief with a remarkable joke: She is offended that we expect her to vaccinate! She’s a victim!

One suggestion, Ms. Floreen: if you and your boyfriend should find yourselves in the ER gasping for breath while begging for a vaccine that can no longer help — maybe skip this joke. Our medical professionals seem to have lost their sense of humor.

I read where one of your stalwart readers objected to the term “unboosted” (Mailbox, Feb. 3). I would suggest pre-boosted, but that implies consideration of. That seems unlikely given the diatribe. Non boosted? Void of boost? Zippo boost? I’d go with bupkis boost.

Regarding the letter “As a Victim” saying “I have endured over a year of harassment” in NCJ (Mailbox, Feb. 3). I hear this a lot from the vaccine hesitant, but one thing they never consider is the people around them and the health care workers put at risk. Fact: The unvaccinated have the 15-fold increased risk of serious illness compared to the fully vaccinated (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#rates-by-vaccine-status). So have the grace to be considerate of your neighbors, especially those with compromised immune systems and our health care heroes who care for the seriously ill COVID-19 patients, who are mostly unvaccinated.

  1. It would be fair of the Journal to remind readers that they changed the title of the editorial in question without permission to “As a victim…”, and that the author clarified that was wrong, as well as the reasons why. I agree. For an editorial department to take such liberties with readers’ editorial letters is reason to fire whoever does that.

It’s too obvious at this point, that the Journal’s inherent bias clouds their journalistic judgement in all the wrong ways.

  2. This is the kind of thing this newspaper does. Remember in my original letter how I said my boyfriend had been portrayed as a wimp for being unvaccinated? Nobody is safe, anybody even the Uighurs can and will be reamed by NCJ’s political cartoonists. Check out this epic piece of work making fun of the fact that their organs are being harvested while they’re in concentration camps, published a few articles away from the letters making fun of me for claiming I’m whining as a victim, this is an unreal-offensive piece of freaking work, NCJ should immediately fire this political cartoonist, so offensive against MUSLIMS that they should issue a public apology, shame on them, WTAF is this NCJ? See I was a bit pissed you changed my letter title and got these people to make fun of me but, fuck me, stop harassing all MUSLIMS! https://www.northcoastjournal.com/humboldt…

  3. Know what, I am a short sleeper and even when I do sleep it’s lightly. I am available 24 hours a day to respond to comments about this. I will discuss why I am not vaccinated and my opinion on which vaccine is the safest for those who want to get vaccinated. I like to read stuff I believe online, my favorite thing to read is scientific articles about cars-cov-2 on the NIH’s website, so much better than the NCJ’s reporting about Covid. Wanna tell me more about how much I should die on a ventilator? The best way to contact me is via YouTube because I get notifications all the time. Please post your comments in the comments section of this video I made in 2020 and if I ever do get intubated, send this video to the drs so they know what to do and not to do to me. Thank you, people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f34BQrPbQD…

  4. Let’s start by discussing why the new vaccine using the receptor binding domain is safer than full spike protein based vaccines, whether they are mRNA based or not. Link from Scientific American, note the Dr who created this vaccine he says is safer than the mRNA ones and says anti vaxxers will be willing to take it wrote the book on why anti vaxxers are stupid for not taking mRNA vaccines a year ago. Let’s discuss why a dr who knows why mRNA vaccines are dangerous and why full spike proteins in vaccines might be a problem, who made a vaccine for the stupid people who wouldn’t take the dangerous vaccines, obviously understanding their motivations behind not doing so. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article…

  5. Dear Editor,

As a vaccine of this type has never had any large-scale human trials, what effects is has long-term are wholly and completely unknown. It will be interesting to see what comes of it 5-10yrs down the road. Every test needs a control group so count myself and my fellow Deadhead Adrienne (As a victim. ) in that group. The vaccinated can be the other group, the Guinea Pigs. Lucky for them they trust the government of Donald Trump whom developed the vaccine they are taking. My best wishes for the Trump Guinea Pigs.

    Mike
