In regard to Bob Doran’s column “Stranger Weather” in the Sept. 13 edition of the North Coast Journal: When Merle Haggard was inventing “the Bakersfield country sound,” where was Buck Owens (“born in Barstow raised in Bakersfield”) one of whose ex-wives, Bonnie Owens, is also one of Merle’s ex-wives?
