Well, I’ll make you a deal, 8:51. You can gape at grotesquely engineered plasticine fembot trainwrecks — here you go, try to aim away from the screen — and we thinking men can savour our favorite Kay Howard moments.
Like that scene when she and Pembleton are walking up the stairwell, and she completely winds up the great man re: Ed Danvers’ prowess, and the camera gets just a momentary glimpse of the put-on, and at the end of it Pembleton still doesn’t know which way is up. Or her triumph in finally finding the gun that put away the babbling, faux-profound mechanic. Or the various times and ways she gets over on Felton. Or her dripping rage in the interrogation room.
I tell you in all honesty, my heart flutters a little just remembering them all. What was I, 22 years old? Man, she opened up whole new worlds.
