A combination of higher astronomical tides and southerly winds are increasing the chances of some areas seeing minor coastal flooding around Humboldt Bay in the late morning and early afternoon today and Saturday.

Today’s peak, nearing 9 feet, is forecast for 12:17 p.m. A coastal flooding advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Saturday, the advisory runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Particularly vulnerable locations include King Salmon and parts of the Arcata Bottoms around Humboldt Bay, including Jackson Ranch Road.
