The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after human skeletal remains were found last night in mudflats north of the Fields Landing boat ramp.

According to a news release, the individual has not been identified and it appears the remains have “been submerged underwater for some time.”

The HCSO states no other details are currently available but anyone with information is asked to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.

On March 22, 2021, at about 5 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Fields Landing area for the report of human remains located in the mudflats north of the Fields Landing Boat Ramp.

Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies and a deputy coroner responded to the scene and recovered skeletal remains. The remains have not been identified and appear to have been submerged underwater for some time. No further information is available at this time.

  1. Canadian hiker on the Lost Coast Trail washed out to sea like three+ years ago. They searched for weeks, his body was never recovered. I think it’s him..,
