According to a press release this evening from the Fortuna Union High School District, a second student has tested positive for COVID-19. The message from Superintendent Glen Senestraro states neither this case nor the one announced to parents Thursday was transmitted on the high school campus. The school, it says, is following guidance from Humboldt County Public Health and that “Following our mitigation plan, the three classes affected by the two positive cases have been moved to distance
learning through the quarantine period. The students and teachers in the affected classes were contacted and are in
quarantine.”

  1. And this would not be happening if Ellebrecht and the rest of the school board had listened to the concerned teachers and parents and not play politics with the minority with influence in this community. I hope to God Ellebrecht does not get voted back in and Senstrano should be fired for sucking up to him and putting our community at risk. When will you people learn? When your own family members die? Stop this stupidity!

  2. Maybe it’s time for ALL Humboldt county residents to realize that the rules DO apply to you. Humboldt county just moved from Yellow to the Red tier…(just like San Francisco).
