Sad news, sad news — via e-mail today:
At 11:20 a.m. April 17, 2009 Eric Vaughn Heimstadt passed away circled by family and friends.
Eric was the founder of Humboldt Medical Supply in Arcata, a member of the Humboldt County Medical Task Force, and perhaps the most informed and articulate advocate Humboldt had in trying to bring sanity to compassionate use of marijuana. In recent months he’d been bravely facing another battle — with cancer. He lost that one… He will be missed.

I grew up with Eric. Our families were best friends. He was always one of the loves of my life. And I grieve at his passing. We loved eachother for years.
