During a break at tonight’s city council meeting, Larry Glass responded to this last-minute influx of cash, saying he’d been pleading with Pierson for money. “I’ve been counting on him,” Glass said. The councilman said such large donations are especially important for progressive candidates because they represent the poorest people in the community. He believes the $500 cap on single contributions that will be implemented next year will put such candidates at a disadvantage.
Conservatives want the 3-1 advantage in Campaign fundraising, and Pierson always seems to throw a wrench in their agenda.
