A search is ongoing in the Briceland area of Southern Humboldt after an older resident was reported missing. According to Samantha Karges of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, “Girard Regis Breen, age 76, was reported missing yesterday, Dec. 17, 2020, at about 5:20 p.m. by a neighbor. The property on which Breen lives in Briceland is expansive and deputies are searching that property today to find any information relating to his disappearance.”
Karges said that “deputies responded to the property yesterday when the report was made but due to darkness had to return today for a thorough search of the area.”

Tuesday morning as I exited the freeway at the Miranda/phillipsvilke exit, I saw a man about this age, at,about 9 a.m., wearing a hoodie sweatshirt and standing at the stop sign looking confused and it so caught me by surprise that just kept on going, but his face is staying in my mind.
