A fire is burning in the brush alongside Hwy 101 about one mile north of Dean Creek. The fire was first reported about 3:46 p.m.

The outside northbound lane is being shut down at Dean Creek, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

According to a Cal Fire employee at the scene, the flames are “quickly spreading.”

Copter 102 and Tanker 96 are en route to what is being called the Dean Incident.

UPDATE 4:15 p.m.: According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, fire is now requesting that both northbound lanes be shut down. However, one northbound lane is still open at this time.

UPDATE 4:21 p.m.: One of the aircraft pilots estimated over the scanner that the fire was two acres.
