The Eureka Police Department is asking people to avoid the area of Broadway and West Washington, where an investigation into a suspicious device is underway.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad has been called to the scene and nearby businesses are being asked to shelter in place, according to an EPD Facebook post.
There are traffic delays in the area, the EPD post states.
