With high winds and rain in the forecast, low-lying coastal areas like King Salmon and the Arcata bottoms will see flooding this weekend according to the Humboldt County Emergency Operations Center and the National Weather Service Eureka.
According to the National Weather Service Eureka, king tides are expected through the weekend on the coast. NWS Eureka is advising people to look out for high water levels during the day and early afternoon.
“With periods of stout southerly winds and a large swell forecast, water levels will be a bit higher than the astronomical tide,” reads an NWS Eureka tweet.
