But roughly $250,000 is still needed for to project to be a go, to reach the goal of $450,000 by June 1, 2008.
Grant funding will be lost if the park is not built by summer of next year.
This article appears in Inside Out.

Jeff Leonard mentioned this at the Eureka Parks and Rec meeting last night.
I believe he said the $25k for Eureka was the largest Tony Hawk grant.
Yep. I guess they only go up to $25K.
Where’s the rest of the money going to come from?
Not sure. Jeff doesn’t really discuss that much other than more fundraising and more in-kind donations. The hole is dug at least.
Jeff’s a nice guy, but If he doesn’t get this skate park done in this, his second term, I don’t really know what else he will have accomplished. Maybe I’ve missed something?.
Yeah, I agree with the “I’ve missed something.”
But I will give him the “I tried” award. However, Larry Glass seems to be putting the whole council to shame. He certainly conveys a certain sincerity about his responsibility to the community more than others.
Certainly agree re:Larry. But please TELL me what I’ve missed. Name something else that Jeff has accomplished. This is a sincere question.
