The Times-Standard reports that an email exchange between county Auditor-Controller Karen Paz Dominguez and First District Supervisor Rex Bohn on Thursday is the subject of a Human Resources investigation.

According to the article, the issue in the emails centered on Bohn wanting to hand deliver a $23,000 payment for providing hotel room space during the COVID-19 shutdown to “tax paying citizens who happen to be my friends” and her concern that it was upending normal vendor payment procedures and protections.

  1. Someone apparently does not understand that government isn’t supposed to work to benefit folks who “happen to be friends” of people in government. Which is a acceptable mistake as Bohn has just started to work in government.
    Wait. I got that wrong. Anyone else wonder how many other “friends of Rex” have received special treatment?
