I was moved to tears by your article “Robert’s Vow” (June 9). This is a love story, and a tragedy. Who could possibly imagine this ever happening to them, or contend with the prospect of life after the untimely death of their child? The Parker family is in mourning, and I hope that the community and the legal system will show mercy and compassion during this time. A worthy justice system is one that seeks to rehabilitate, not punish.
