I want to recognize and thank an amazing local organization, Humboldt Sponsors, the local nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to raising funds solely to benefit the youth of Humboldt County. Among the many programs they support, they generously funded the climate education books-to-schools joint project of 350 Humboldt, a local climate action group and the Climate Action Campaign of the Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. In this program, we placed packets of five climate education books in 10 local elementary schools. The books range from kindergarten to sixth grade level. Combined with our book program last year, we have now placed books in 21 local schools.
The goal of the book program is to inform and empower local youth to be proactive regarding climate change and to be empowered stewards of environmental protection. Thank you, Humboldt Sponsors, for including us among your many magnanimous youth sponsorships.
