Why don’t you do a comic about Safeway? They are closing both Eureka locations on October 27, yet have already begun to stop stocking their shelves, under corporate direction. Their new location is set to open on Oct. 28. All of the current employees are not promised their jobs; they have to apply for a new job at the new location. All of the 50 jobs at the new location are part time permanent, so not to to pay benefits. And then there was that story about how they contracted with non-local labor to build the thing. Isn’t Safeway’s corportate personhood funny?

Thanks for the update, Kate. Sounds awful, and I was ignorant of most of this. I’m not at all sure how to treat this, but deadlines usually help.
