A tsunami from the massive Samoa earthquake earlier today is expected to hit Humboldt County sometime shortly after 9 p.m. tonight.

We’ll have an update right here in just a moment.

UPDATE: The National Weather Service’s Troy Nicolini tells KHUM’s Larry Trask that this will be a very small wave that should not affect anyone on dry land. Still, probably prudent to stay out of your boat.
