Dell’Arte International and the Wiyot Tribe present The Bartow Project, a special collaboration featuring four film screenings and several exhibits about the life and art of Wiyot artist Rick Bartow. The event spans multiple venues across Wiyot ancestral territory from April 2-23. A limited seating Gala Event and screening takes place Saturday, April 2 at 8 p.m. at Da Ggou Rou Louwi’ Cultural Center in Old Town with an open art exhibit during Arts Alive from 6 to 7 p.m. The next screening events are: Friday, April 8 and Sunday, April 10 at 8 p.m. at Dell’Arte’s Carlo Theatre; Saturday, April 16 at 8 p.m. at the Eureka Theater; and Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. at the Minor Theatre. Running concurrently with the film screenings are the small exhibit at the Da Gou Rou Louwi’ Cultural Center from 6 to 7 p.m. during Arts Alive and a larger exhibit at CalPoly Humboldt’s Goudi’ni Native American Arts Gallery through May 28. That exhibit is curated by gallery director Brittany Britton (Hupa) with the support of Portland’s Froelick Gallery, which represented Bartow for the bulk of his career.
Rick bartow,was a wonderful artist,ted hernandez and his council and his family all talk about how they loved and respected the man,but rick did a awesome,egret wood statue for the tribe,but what ted and his family did was break the statue,didnt fix it,they even had offers to fix it or keep it,but ted threw in in the garbage,it was an easy fix. But im sure ted will make an exscuse for that also,too bad none of you people know the truth about ted hernandez,his family,his staff his council,i say his because him and his family think they own our tribe and its peoole,like politicians,we are not politician’s, we are tribal people,who have always been here for 100s of years,ted and his staff and council just moved here and took horrible advantage of tribe during covid.if you didnt know about ted and his family and his council and staff,you will soon,its all going to federal court,and all the proof is comeing out to public so you can all see and support ted like you all are now.blame ted after all is said and done,ted hernandez and his family and his council and his staff and friends,wont be able to lie or hide anymore.once general council is in motion,they dont stop until done,ted and crew will have consequences whether they like it or not.wait for it.coming to theaters near you,public television,pbs,every social media since they are media mongers.they wanna be known,now you will.nobody hideing but you guys,and they say transparency.c.i.l.s is gonna get a packet also,and the office.enjoy your exsposure ted and crew,enjoy that freedom while it lasts.
