An abstract image of the lighted holiday tree in the Jacoby Storehouse building was created by zooming in and rotating camera at the same time with a slow shutter speed.
Mindy Hiley, director of SCRAP Humboldt, demonstrated how to make an ugly sweater on volunteer Patti Johnson with help from Leda at a workshop table during the Wonder and Light event on the Arcata Plaza on Friday, Dec. 2. An Ungly Sweater Walk/Run was scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 4.

Arcata Main Street’s Events and Marketing Director Nancy Stephenson and head elf Talvi Fried organized the “Wonder and Light” event on the Arcata Plaza, entertaining families, welcoming Santa and helped promoting local businesses.
Momma Hungry (James Peck) and Jack (Alyssa Hughlett) of the cast of “Jack and the Holiday Beans” stopped by for a little cross-event promotion of the play currently at the Arcata Playhouse.
