October – Fall color in big leaf maple leaves was enhanced by the smoky sunlight on this day at Headwaters Forest Reserve. -
October – The signs near the Big Tree in Redwood National Park leave no doubt there’s big trees in the old growth redwood forest. -
October – This Peregrine falcon swooped just over our heads at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary (its tail feathers still wet from an attempted kill in the oxidation pond). -
November – A large big leaf maple tree covered in moss along the Redwood Creek trail east of Orick. -
November – A great egret came in for a landing at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary. -
