To start the program, Tina Okoye led the crowd in singing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” often referred to as the Black National Anthem (it was adopted by the NAACP as its official song). -
Donna Landry shared a powerful solo as part of the program. -
Leslie Price was one of three honorees, all long-time members of the local NAACP. -
Donna McQueen was one of three honorees, all long-time members of the local NAACP. -
John Lee Lyons was one of three honorees, all long-time members of the local NAACP. -
Three members of the Black Humboldt organization, Mo Desir (left), Dionna Fletcher and Kevin Ross, introduced the crowd to the goals and activities of their group. -
