Under one sky, the Wiyot Tribe gathers to honor elders and veterans during the annual Wiyot Goutswe’m (One Sky) Celebration, Saturday, Aug. 22, from 4 p.m. to midnight at the ceremony grounds on the north side of Table Bluff Reservation (free entry, $25 dinner). All are welcome at the celebration, which includes traditional singing, dancing, a card game tournament, youth activities, Native vendors and educational demonstrations. Featured participants include All My Relations (Wiyot Dancers), Colusa and Round Valley Feather Dancers, Bird Singers, Bear Dancers, Jai Kibby Bruce Kay, Wigi: Past, Present, Future Story and Wusatoumuduk: We Make It Burn. Bring folding chairs, blankets and dress warmly.

Start spreading the news … Baritone Brad Curtis reprises his sold-out Trinidad show with A Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett Tribute Concert, Friday, Aug. 21, from 8 to 10 p.m. at Arcata Playhouse, featuring the beloved boys in the RLA band: Tim Randles on piano, Ken Lawrence on electric bass and Mike LaBolle on drums, joined by Eureka Symphony member Gary Lewis on sax and flute ($20). Curtis, a singer, actor, voice-over artist and former KINS/KEKA broadcaster, steps up to the microphone for classics made famous by both legendary crooners. The best is yet to come.

Pledge allegiance to the brews at the 22nd annual Hops in Humboldt, celebrating America’s 250th with its “Red, White and Brew” theme on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Rohner Park ($50, $75 VIP, $20 designated driver). Your commemorative glass unlocks unlimited samples of hundreds of beers, ciders and hard kombuchas from more than 40 makers. Between pours, catch live music and stage games, browse art and craft vendors and refuel at food trucks like Voodoo Box, Saxy Chef, Banh Mi Ok, Birdies, ESA Indian Tacos, Cap’s Food Shack or Pupusas San Miguel. Ages 21 and up. Bring ID. One nation, under hops.
