Somebody with a deep desire to enter the new year with some seriously bad karma blasted the life out of 21 ducks up off Fickle Hill Road. It happened on Dec. 29. Five different ducks species were represented among the dead. The weapon used was possibly a shotgun. And not a one was plucked and stripped of its meat, but rather, as the California Department of Fish and Wildlife news release reports:
“… the ducks were abandoned to spoil next to the road.”
Hence the bad karma: This was no hunger killing. State code prohibits such waste. And, besides, 21 ducks would be over the bag limit. If you know anything about this, Fish and Wildlife would like to talk to you: (707) 445-6493.

Probably the same dude who shot his neighbor last summer up Fickle Hill. Dude shouldn’t be allowed to have guns.
No doubt the ducks were trying to oppress this brave man’s liberties, and like any well-regulated, one-man militia, he took action to defend himself.
Those are diving ducks, likely taken off the bay or one of the lagoons, possibly by a scull boat hunter, 21 birds is limits for three hunters, that’s a lot of work to just dump them off, shame on them.
PS- just because there are a few bad apples, doesn’t mean all hunters are wasteful idiots, there are plenty of conservation minded hunters who appreciate the resource
Nice to see a comment by someone who actually appreciates the sport and not some liberal, Obama loving, anti-gun, anti-rights person. Could have been too that the birds fell from a truck while on the way home and went unnoticed rather than the ill thoughts people want to jump to.
2, Not all hunters are mindless conservative Obama-hating nincompoops. I will agree though, I was thinking too that they may have just fallen out of someones truck. Seems like a lot of effort to just dump them on the side of the road.
Thanks to you legit hunters for doing it right and saying so. Wild meat is good! When I took a walk the Friday after Christmas and found 21 dead birds under the trees by the road, it was not good. It was sad. I don’t think they could have fallen out of a truck. None of them were in the road, and they were whole, not run over. Bad apples and all–just sad.
