Original post:
North Coast Journal Arts and Culture Editor Bob Doran had a stroke at HSU today while photographing graduation. Travis Turner was there, recognized the signs of stroke and called 911 for an ambulance. Travis also called Amy, Bob’s wife, who met them at St. Joseph Hospital. After preliminary tests, Bob was transported by air to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
Amy drove down and is with him tonight. His family has been notified. He is conscious and receiving care but we’ll all know more tomorrow, after an additional CT scan and further evaluation, about the extent of his injuries.

Prayers to the whole family that Bob is up and about soon.
Oh geez. Sending good thoughts and hope Jean is OK.
Having read Bob’s columns for years I feel he is a friend. Quite a blow. I’m reminded how we are all so vulnerable. Best wishes Bob, you are in my thoughts.
Awww WOW! Strokes are serious, but there are ways to re-coop an injured body with love and alternatives. My prayers are with him in recovery and considering all his following supporters, he should feel his spirit lift in no time. Just breathe in some essential healing oils and believe the body can heal itself.
Best wishes to Bob for a speedy recovery.
We want you back out at the local music scene soon!!!

We spoke on the phone a couple of times about an article and I was impressed with how kind, real, and personable you are. I also loved your recent article about Morris Graves. I send my thoughts and prayers to you and your family, Bob!
