Hey, any strict religion looks strange to outsiders. It’s called Fundalmentalism – it doesn’t matter what religion it is – it will look strange to non-fanatics. What about the Hindus that whip themselves (self-flagellation) with spikes and bleed in parades? Or Ultra-Orthodox Hasidic women who shave their head so no man but their husband will want them? Or the men who can’t touch any woman (including shaking one’s hand) except his wife? Praying everyday isn’t so strange in the big picture. Rituals serve a purpose, but fundamentalism isn’t my cup of tea, but it’s called Freedom of Religion.
