Run for cover, everybody! It’s raining gayness!
Following the recent same-sex marriage victories in Iowa and Vermont, a group called the National Organization for Marriage is
paying $1.5 million
to air an ad (shown below) that flaunts homophobia like its the world’s most fabulous feather boa. With a backdrop of ominous gay clouds ejaculating their destructive gay lightning, actors intone the dire weather report (subtext added in brackets):
“There’s a [gay] storm gathering.”
“The [gay] clouds are dark, and the [gay] winds are strong.”
“And I am afraid [of gays].”
Here, just watch it:
Whose idea was it to call this fear-mongering mob “a rainbow coalition”? That’s hilarious!
The ad reportedly will run in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and California on CNN, the Fox News Channel, and MSNBC. (What, no Weather Channel?) The Human Rights Campaign issued
a rebuttal
to the implied, er, arguments. And Target has announced plans to start stocking
these gay-repellent umbrellas
.

Who knew? They are all California doctors raising families in Massachusetts.
cough
When they got to the Rainbow Coalition part, I thought it was an SNL parody.
Seriously, this is just the start of a long fight that will bring out the worst in some people.
You must watch the auditions!
via Gawker
Darn … Gawker took down the auditions due to “a copyright claim by the NOM.”
Can’t wait to hear what EFLP Rachel Maddow has to say about it, especially considering the ad will be running on her network! (EFLP=Everybody’s Favorite Lesbian Pundit).
And yet NOM allows the ad itself to remain. Guess they just don’t want people peeking behind the curtain into their den of fabricated fear.
"Our church can’t support same sex marriage" and it doesn’t have to,
unless they take tax payer money.
Has anyone noticed how scared Christians have become lately?
Geez, get a grip.
In what manner would same-sex marriage force a doctor to choose between her faith and her job? Am I missing something? Birth control, abortion, sure, can see the problem there, but same sex marriage?
"A rainbow coalition…coming together in love"
Perversity apparently thrives in every ideology.
