Considering the collective effects of the correctional system, funding for law enforcement, and anti-drug-related actions by the DEA and others, the "Drug War" is an utter waste of taxpayer money and people’s lives.
If anything, the drug problem (by this I mean hard drugs) has only gotten worse, not better.
