A power outage that began about 2:45 p.m. has left over 1,800 without electricity from Whitethorn to Petrolia from the coast to Garberville, according to the PG&E Outage site.

PG&E says they are investigating the cause. They are giving 7 p.m. as the estimated restore time. Those are usually not based on information about the real conditions but based on their normal time to deal with an outage in that area.
