Holy Betty Rubble wig! Press release from the Eureka Police Department:

The Eureka Police Department is requesting the publics assistance to identify the following female fraud suspect and a vehicle associated with her.

The female has been purchasing items at various stores (Safeway, Walgreen’s, K-mart, and WalMart) by using stolen checks. The checks were stolen from the Humboldt Hill area of Eureka.

The female is described as a white female adult, heavy build, with straight dark colored hair (that is believed to be a wig or resembles a wig). The suspect sometimes wears larger round clear colored glasses and on occasion carries a large blue bag style purse.

The checks are roughly written with the original payee name and the numerical amount scratched out and different names and amounts written in. If asked the suspect presents a stolen driver’s license as identification.

The white truck is possibly a Mazda, extended cab, with a canopy.  There are distinct stripes on the driver’s side of the truck.  The woman is normally the passenger in this vehicle.

The photos will also be available on the department’s website and FB soon.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity and/or that of the truck’s driver is urged to contact Police Services Officer Suzie Owsley at 441-4325 ext. 2.

  1. Real smart bud….when people write stolen checks to wal mart they arent stealing from walmart…they are stealing from the person whos checkbook they stole

  2. Note to self: Wal-Mart has exceptionally low resolution security cameras that capture little more than a basic description of a person.

  3. We get bad checks from time to time at our store. We can’t do anything about it other than keep trying to cash them. I wish there was a way for merchants to take action against people like this. I have not been able to do anything about it, ever! We just have to try to absorb the loss. Which sucks. I hope they catch her and poke her in the eye with a dirty stick.

  4. Someone stole a check from my boyfriend’s car a couple months ago and cashed it. Pretty sure it was a woman too because of the hand writing. The bank eats the loss. Or the person if you don’t report it. Hope she gets caught. But I second the part about- “Walmart Sucks!”

  5. Walmart isn’t great but it brought jobs to a struggling area. As for this woman, it’s an unfortunate circumstance for the person she stole from. Hopefully a clearer picture can be found and the woman apprehended.

  6. Wall Mart sucks, they offer minimum wage and no health benefits to their employees. They destroy local business and sell crap

  7. Such hatred of “corporations”… typed on a corporate webpage by people using PCs or smartphones made by a corporations, powered by electricity generated and transported by corporations…

I’ll bet they’re even wearing clothing, jewelry, and perfumes made by corporations.

And they may not know the Democrat and Green parties are corporations.

The perfect useless drones to help destroy American Freedoms… all their Dear Leader needs to do is point them toward the next “Enemy of the People” and they attack without even thinking…

  8. Erin, So if one doesn’t “like” Wal-Mart, then it is not illegal or immoral to steal from them? Your logic escapes me.

I hope this comment doesn’t put ME on your “dislike” list!

  9. This is to Erin and all the other corporation hating idiots on this board. Flash, this has nothing to do with corporations. It has everything to do with scumbags passing bad checks. They are criminals. They hurt small business just as they do big business. The main point in all this, It is illegal to write or pass or cash a check that doesn’t belong to the person cashing it, This crime hurts every consumer because the businesses cashing the checks lose money which is passed on to us, the customers by way of higher prices and yes Erin no matter how you feel you are a customer of corporations and small business and it costs you more…crap for brains….

  10. According to studies, Wal-Mart employees use 40% more public assistance than other workers.

“The Los Angeles City Council commissioned a report in 2003 on the effects of allowing Wal-Mart Supercenters into their communities. The report, prepared by consulting firm Rodino and Associates, found that Supercenters drive down wages in the local retail industry, place a strain on public services, and damage small businesses.

The Democratic Staff of the Committee on Education and the Workforce estimates that one 200-person Wal-Mart store may result in a cost to federal taxpayers of $420,750 per year – about $2,103 per employee.”
