Here we go again: Humboldt County COVID-19 cases are spiking, with the more contagious Delta variant in the mix. To stem the tide, Public Health announced a masking order, requiring facial coverings in public and indoors when outside the home or outside where 6 feet of distance isn’t possible. We’ll break down how we got here, what we know about the Delta variant and what it means for planned events (including the Journal’s Best of Humboldt party, which is now postponed). This week’s cover story is our Best of Humboldt issue, so we’ll be looking at some of the more unusual categories, upsets and favorites. Hit subscribe for weekly updates on Humboldt County stories.

I prefer not to wear a mask in public. I feel embarrassed when doing so. I’m much more comfortable wearing a mask when I’m at home.
Additionally, I’ve elected to self administrator my own homebrew recipe vaccination. No big pharma vaccination for me. I don’t want to be selfish and use a big pharma vaccination that could be used for someone (or something) else.
Perhaps others could follow my example too. Mask wearing at home only and concoct their own homebrew vaccination too. If we all work together (cooperate/sacrifice) we’ll get through this together.
