Flames are licking up the side of a steep hillside just north of Myers Flat along Hwy 101.

According to the pilot of an air attack plane circling about 6:35 p.m., the fire is about one acre and moving at a moderate rate of speed.

A PG&E worker began fighting the fire first and there are at least two engines now on scene at 6:42 p.m.
