Cher-Ae Heights casino announced today that it will reopen on Friday, May 22.

According to a press release, the casino will close from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. to clean and sanitize common surface areas and has installed plexiglass throughout the casino to act as safe health barriers.

Bear River Casino was the first local casino to announce plans to re-open, and Humboldt County Public Health Officer Teresa Frankovich was clear that she opposed the move.

“What I can say is this is not the time,” she said. “We are far too early in this and ultimately there is no way to get around the fact that these are mass gatherings. It’s an entertainment venue and people are not only together in large numbers but they’re together for large periods of time, which extends risk. … I don’t think it’s the time. I would clearly oppose the opening of casinos right now in our community, although I’d be happy to have ongoing conversations about when might be the right time.”

  1. Best part of this is the no smoking regulation. Maybe it will become permanent. If they would put a craps table in I would be happy to come up and lose my money.

  2. American privilege at its finest….People are dying all over the world, the economy has crashed and casinos and bars are opening up. Come on America, get over your privilege! We don’t need to be gambling. This makes no sense to me. Our country going into further dept with stimulus packages which are not even enough to pay our bills and recover the economy. Yet people have the disposable income to throw away gambling?? Wouldn’t that money be better off for a family in need, a single parent trying to feed their kids, someone who can not afford life saving medication?? NO stimulus money should go to a gambler when there are children starving and people trying to barley get by. SMH This makes me ashamed to be an American during these times.

  3. Speaking about the hobbies of modern people, I would especially emphasize online games. Including slot machines in which you can earn a little extra money. I can recommend this site for beginners, where they can find useful information for themselves [url=https://syndicate.casino]https://syndicate.casinop/url]
