Rotary Club of Arcata and Rotary Club of Arcata Sunrise have once again demonstrated the power of community service, raising $22,750 during their annual Golf Fundraiser and Charity Social to benefit Backpacks for Kids, Food For People’s weekend hunger relief program.
The donation will provide nutritious food for 65 children at Arcata schools experiencing food insecurity, helping ensure they have access to healthy meals when they are away from school.
Held at Baywood Golf and Country Club, the event brought together local businesses, community leaders, golfers, volunteers, and residents for a day of friendly competition followed by a Charity Social featuring a silent auction, Dutch raffle, and Adventure Raffle. The combination of generous sponsorships, enthusiastic participation, and countless volunteer hours made this year’s fundraiser one of the most successful to date.
“One of the greatest strengths of our community is its willingness to come together to help neighbors in need,” said the event committee. “This event is about much more than golf. It’s about investing in our children and making sure they have the nourishment they need to succeed. We are deeply grateful to everyone who played a part in making this year’s fundraiser such a success.”
The Rotary clubs recognize the many sponsors whose generosity helped make the event possible: Cal Poly Humboldt, Complete Property Management, RE/MAX Humboldt Realty, Edward Jones, Coast Central Credit Union, Redwood Capital Bank, Edward Jones – Laura Middlemiss, Owsley Electric, The Mill Yard, Wells Fargo Advisors, Kraft Transitions, Kinetic Koffee, German Auto, Ray Wolfe Construction, Grossman Hague, Quality Auto, Marty Lay & Terri Clark, FS3H Overwatch Construction, Hideaway Mini-Storage, RMW Accounting McKinleyville, Wing Inflatables, Los Bagels, Hensel Materials, Inc., North Coast Growers Association, Mid-City Motor World, Hilfiker Pipe Company, State Farm Insurance, Eureka Natural Foods, Post Haste Print & Ship, Paskenta Mad River Brewery, Powers Brewery, New Zealand Humboldt Bay Birding, ACE Hardware of McKinleyville, Division 7 Roofing Solutions, and Tony’s.
