It’s not every day around here you get the chance to check out a retro punk and garage band from Paris, and almost never on a Monday. But this is the last Monday of August, and things get a little weird in these parts when the locals brace themselves into a phalanx to handle the annual student invasion. Dérapage is the band, and the Siren’s Song Tavern is the place, and the bill is stacked with the perfect local bands to make this into a proper rock and roll crash-out needed to handle transition. Clean Girl and the Dirty Dishes are absolute trash heroes in this column and there’s a fair chance that Breaking Marble Jars may one day enter the pantheon as well. Come through at 8 p.m. with $5-$10 for the door to see what I mean.
