William Shane Hill, Aug. 21, 1970, to Dec. 4, 2024.

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our beloved son William Shane Hill. Born on Aug. 21, 1970. A little star was born. Who was taken from us too soon on Dec. 4, 2024. He brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart and great smile and endless love.

As a child Shane loved to play football. He started at the age of 10 and played two years for the Pirates, then one year with the Orange Jets, and lastly a year for the Cowboys. He excelled in the sport and received MVP. It brought me great joy to watch him make those touchdowns.

In the ’80s Shane was doing his thing on the skateboard, then he was into dirt bikes which he was great at both. Shane was a talented guitarist with a passion for music that inspired countless friends and fans. He started playing guitar in his early teens and quickly became devoted to his craft. His bedroom was transformed into a makeshift music studio.

Shane’s love for music was contagious, and his infectious laugh could light up even the darkest of rooms. His heart was pure, and his spirit was unbreakable. He had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, and his kindness, empathy, and generosity earned him a vast network of life long friends.

As a young adult he became a baker. Shane spent 30 years perfecting his craft as a baker. He worked at Ramone’s where he made the breads and the best pies ever. He was there for over 20 years.

Shane’s love for his family was unparalleled. A few years ago he moved to Redding, where his dad lives. He kept in touch daily with his cousins Adam Adorni and Michael Weekly and Auntie Emmie. He continued working as a baker at the Orchard Nutrition Center where he baked all their breads.

Everyone he met seemed to love him as he had such a big heart and would do anything for anyone. He is so missed by all his family and friends.

Shane’s family and friends will deeply miss his bright smile, his infectious laugh, and his unwavering kindness. He is survived by his mother Georgette Kime, father Barry Hill, Step Mom Diane Hill, his half sister Sarah McEwen and half brother Adam Hill. He was also survived by his Aunts, Bernadette Madonia and Debbie Hart and his uncle George Amaral and niece Brooklyn Hill and nephews Braydon HIll, Thomas McEwen and Joseph McEwen.

As we say goodbye to this remarkable individual, we take comfort in the knowledge that his spirit will continue to inspired us. Shane’s laughter, and music will never be forgotten. A memorial will be held on March 8, at Telios Church located at 1575 L St. in Arcata at 1 p.m.. Please send prayers to the family .

A poem to my son, I will always cherish the time we had:

If I could go back in time for a while,
It would be the moment I I first saw your smile.
To the time when you tottered that first wobbly walk,
To the moment your babel turned into talk.
I would lie down and hold you after a bath.
I would tickle your toes and cherish you laugh.
The look in your eyes when you suddenly knew the face in the mirror was sweet little you.
That giggle you gave with a look of alarm as you realized your hand was attached to your arm.
The times when you cried as you’d woken at night.
I held you and rocked you, then tucked you in tight.
The moment you showed you were caring and kind.
So proud and so strong your beautiful mind.
Those moments were riches beyond all else.
You won over my soul, my all, my self, my wonderful kind little boy.
I will see you in heaven.

Love Mom Georgette Kime
