Robert Francis Coppini (Bobby), born December 1, 1955, in Scotia, California, passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2026, surrounded by his wife, Leslie, and his beloved dog, Josie. He was the fifth child of Francis and Hilda Coppini.

Bobby learned the art of dairying from his father, Francis, and proudly followed in his footsteps. He and his first wife, Kathy Coppini (née Losa), operated the Coppini Dairy in Ferndale before relocating to a farm in Tillamook. After his time in Tillamook, Bobby chose to transition from dairying to beef ranching. A lifelong hunter, he eventually settled in Mitchell, Oregon—his favorite hunting ground—where he built a life surrounded by the land he loved. There, he married his soulmate, Leslie, and together they made their home on a hill overlooking their beef ranch.

Bobby had a passion for steer wrestling, hunting, bowling, and throwing horse shoes. In 1992, he achieved the title of California State Champion in steer wrestling. He also brought steer wrestling to Ferndale High School, where he mentored and inspired many students. Leslie often said that anything Bobby took an interest in, he excelled at—he always wanted to be the best.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Hilda Coppini, and his brother, David Coppini.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie Coppini (née Dixon); his children, Jodi Coppini and Kenny Coppini; his grandchildren, Kenleigh and Lane; and his siblings, Susan Coppini, Judy McCanless, Donna Smith, and Walter Coppini.

Bobby will be remembered as a courageous, hard-working, and giving man, whose determination, love of the land, and dedication to others left a lasting impact. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the friends and family who attended or sent messages for Bobby’s birthday celebration at The Barn at Fernbridge last November. Your love and support meant so much to him and to all of us.
