Editor:

I see a lot of controversy, shows canceled and a lot of talk about Capleton (“Pressure Drop,” Oct. 11) but what comes to mind is, did these persons making these comments and articles actually sit down with Capleton and do an interview to find out what is what?

Fact finding is really important and to place a judgment on a person without actually speaking with him one on one to find out what really took place is missing what journalism is about. All the information in your article is truly hearsay and nothing factual. Why don’t you call Capleton’s management and get a true story of the accounting of the situation and the song and what it means? Would be interesting to hear what the artist has to say!!!

  1. Yeah… let’s not judge him on what he says repeatedly on the global stage. How unfair.

Instead, let’s give him an opportunity to weasel out of positions that are locally inconvenient. “I don’t call for gays to be killed at every show, and I’ve never done it here in the US. Don’t worry your pretty little head about what I say in places where gay bashing sells records.”

Good thinking. Praise the fyah! (Or at least allow it the chance to backtrack, eh?)

  2. I’ll interview him for free. I’m fairly nuetral on the matter, and I wouldn’t mind meeting Capleton.
