Millions of California citizens demand and require cannabis (marijuana) through a legal and regulated market, so the next step is to stay the course (“Where To Now?”, Nov. 11). Proposition 19 organizers are already planning another proposition for 2012. Colorado is also preparing initiatives for the 2012 election ballot to legalize the relatively safe, God-given plant, cannabis. Massachusetts, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and others may join it.
Perhaps the next step is to make the effort to legalize the plant a race. There is some question as to which state will be first. America’s competitive spirit may help get cannabis legalized sooner too. As a Colorado cannabis activist and citizen, I challenge California along with the rest of the states to a race to legalize cannabis.

We should amend the constitution to make it illegal to prohibit a plant. We did it with alcohol, why not marijuana?
“Where To Know” Stan? Let’s go back to “Where We Were Long Ago.” You know, back to seperating our populace who insist on impairing their thoughts and functioning (while supporting impaired thoughts and functioning in others) from those of us for whom reality (unimpaired) is just fine. Clearly perceiving through drug unimpaired senses, not endangering our fellow workers on the job (you do work don’t you Stan?), driving on the highway with all our faculties, not shooting / robbing our fellow citizens for weed. Putting you and your fellow dopers in jail / prison / rehab until you realize your irresponsible behavior on the job, behind the wheel, on the streets jeopardizes the right of us responsible citizens to life, liberty, and the pursuit of (legal) happiness – free from dopers like you.
