Regarding the March 1 cartoon entitled “Sightseeing” by Joel Mielke, it seems to me that he has an issue with Eureka. Why does he not use his big boy words and express himself instead of “crapping” on our city?
Eda Bachrach, Eureka
This article appears in Fight at the Museum.

Because Joel is obviously a talentless, biased hack who regularly engages in stereotyping those whom he deems beneath him. He should be arrested for impersonating a cartoonist.
The above commenter is a perfect example of the human trash the occupies Eureka
No, Anon, I think that description best suits you…
To recap Magazine Husband’s rationale, stereotyping and denigrating people is okay.
Magazine Husband is simply using the same style Joel seems to enjoy when penning his cartoons.
Eda, are you being deliberately obtuse?
Actually, in light of Interim Police Chief Murl The Pearl Harpham refering to Eureka as a “Rat hole” several years back, I don’t understand the umbrage so many have taken with Mielke’s cartoon. I do take issue with his portrayal of Orleans as being bear rich when, in fact, you’re much more likely to see a tweeked-out drunk sprawled in the road than an mammal of the ursine persuasion.
