As a former longtime McKinleyville resident, social worker and business owner, I support Mary Burke for Humboldt County Fifth District supervisor. Having known Mary since 2017, I have seen her leadership firsthand through our work as co-chairs of the McKinleyville Alliance for Racial Equity (MARE), where we created a collaborative to reduce bias and foster inclusion for local youth and families. Furthermore, Mary and I organize together through Humboldt SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice), where she consistently mobilizes neighbors and colleagues to fight for racial and economic justice through active grassroots campaigns. Mary’s proven dedication and actionable vision for an equitable future make her the most qualified candidate. Please vote for Mary Burke for Fifth District supervisor on Election Day.
