Yup, the NCJ has no political orientation, leaning, slant, or agenda. Just a bunch of honest unbiased folks trying to report the unspun facts, nothing but the facts. They will actually tell you this with a straight face,
Cute and funny strip this week though. Even for a party line newsletter.
New economic development strategy? Fuck if I know what it is.
Course I don’t know what the old strategy was either but it sure wasn’t working so I’m really glad there is a new one. Care to enlighten me on the old plan so I know what we don’t want to do otherwise I’m going with change, any change. At least the new folks are nicer people. They may screw up just as badly but at least they’ll be kinder about it.
The “old plan” — still the current plan, actually — is called “Prosperity,” and you can read up on it here. You want to click the “Target Materials” tab for source documents.
You know Humboldt County’s unemployment rate is not that bad, right?
“At least the new folks are nicer people. They may screw up just as badly but at least they’ll be kinder about it.”
Oops, just realized that’s what I said about Obama too and so far it’s true on all counts. But I’m happier than I was two years ago, no better off, maybe even worse, but happier.
… and anyway, I’m afraid you’ve done little to dispel the raging bias you claim to have identified.
“Fuck if I know what it is”? That’s pretty much the standard answer, admirably boiled down. Believe me, I’d love people to show me that it’s unfair. Chris Crawford gave it a go last week, but it seems to me that the best he came up with is we gotta get everyone together to figure out what to do.
“… and anyway, I’m afraid you’ve done little to dispel the raging bias you claim to have identified.”
The bias is yours. I can’t dispel it only you can. Or you could at least acknoledge it.
Thanks for the link to the Prosperity site. Can you point out the tabs for grow houses on every corner, screwing property owners, and code enforcement goon squads? Oh yeah, and the one where massive growth in government or professional eco orgs is the answer to all woes? I musta missed them.
“we gotta get everyone together to figure out what to do.”
Damn, seems like a good place to start. Better than the progressive Cheney types telling us that they know better and proceding to force feed us kool-aid, organic of course.
Based on the campaigns of those who were recently elected, I say the new economic development strategy is to build the Home Depot strip mall as soon as possible. Wetlands or not, comprehensive clean up or not, this development project is apparently the key to our future prosperity.
Positive economic environment = more jobs?
Hey, who are you, Virginia Bass?

A Happy and healthy New Year to all.
OK. I can’t get anyone to answer this, so I nominate you. What’s the new economic development strategy?

Really? Can you cite an instance?
